About
WHAT IS THE RETURNING LIGHT?
We are taught there are two kinds of light. The light that shines from above, called the “straight light”, and the light that shines from below, called “The Returning Light.” These lights bring about an “awakening from above” and an “awakening from below.”
The real journey begins when we create an awakening within ourselves, an Ohr Chozer, to connect to the Infinite Creative Intelligence we call G-d.
The Returning Light is a non-profit organization striving to support religious education through conducting seminars and Shabbatons, to make available through translation of religious materials of all kinds, with a particular emphasis on Kabbalah and Chassidic thought.
The Returning Light also seeks to provide relief to the poor and disadvantaged through education and donations.
The Knowledge to Grow
Allied with groups of Rabbis and educators, one of our main goals is to nurture and guide through Torah study and the dissemination of Kabbalah wisdom. Knowledge can be an incredible power to affect change in the world, change for the better. We have only to trust in ourselves and in G-d to unleash that positive light and energy.
The Mitzvah and Responsibility of Tzedakah
Though the times may be riddled with strife, we continue to hold out our hands to those less fortunate. Our duty as members of the Jewish nation is to take care of each other as much as we possibly can. We at The Returning Light endeavor to be a conduit for help and support to those in need.
Translating Religious Materials
Despite modern conveniences, there is an incredible lack of Kabbalistic materials available in english. An important project of ours is promoting and funding the translation of these materials to make them readily available to english-speaking students and educators.
